What is this book about? A science fiction novel that raises moral issues about working and living together with other (alien) species. This is the third book in the Ender Trilogy and it is preceded by "Ender's Game" and "Speaker for the Dead". It is also the most philosophical of the three books and it talks about issues such as genocide and moral culpability, the limits and possibilities of science, ecosystems and human values.
Has this book influenced you in anyway? It has made me more open-minded and curious about the world around me. It has also made me more compassionate in some ways.
Who would you recommend this book to? Any teenager with an interest in Science Fiction, but particularly TOK students.
Why should they read this book? To get acquainted with present moral issues in a literary way, mediated by lovable characters and gripping stories.
How did you learn about this book? A friend of mine has the whole series and he recommended it to me.
Any other comments or interesting facts about the book? The first volume, "Ender's Game" has been made into a movie and it is possible that the others will follow.
